Mission Esodia

Adventure and puzzle game developed for the client "Odyssey NGO" with support from Corfo "Social Innovation Prototypes", designed to strengthen 21st century skills through the Odyssey method.

Assignment

The Odyssey NGO, through its ODYSSEY method (Observe, Challenge, Ideate, Solve, Evaluate, Learn), sought to develop a video game that could reflect the various stages of its method in an entertaining and motivating way, which were put into practice in a school in the commune of Renca, Chile, where students developed the narrative basis and the characters that would be part of the game.

Solution

Our solution was to develop a 2D adventure video game, in which the main character of the company, Odis, is faced with finding a cure for a rare disease afflicting the inhabitants of his planet. This story was designed by the children participating in the workshops developed by Odyssey, and redesigned by our team to have a structure that would allow it to adapt to a video game that could be played in 45-minute class sessions. The game unfolds across 5 planets (Odyssey, Observe, Challenge, Ideate, Solve) where the player must collect a series of objects by combining them, which will ultimately allow them to create the cure that the inhabitants of the Odyssey planet need.
