[ PROJECT // MUI ]
Video game to learn about the rovers sent to Mars.
Project developed for the Interactive Museum of Las Condes (MUI). On display within the "A Look at the Universe" exhibition from 2021 - 2022.
For the thematic axis "Space Exploration: Mars the Last Frontier" of the exhibition, the development of a video game centered on the Mars Rover missions developed by NASA is requested, focused on sending exploration vehicles to Mars, to investigate its surface and the possibility of the existence of water and life.
Our solution was to develop a single-player 3D low poly video game, where the player is presented with the possibility of controlling in order the 4 vehicles sent by NASA: Sojourner, Spirit, Curiosity, and Perseverance. The goal of the game is to successfully complete the different missions that each vehicle has had to carry out, transporting it to specific points on the Martian surface, obtaining samples of the terrain, or photographing specific objects or areas of the planet. To control the vehicle, the player must manage the sending of various commands (vehicle movement, sampling, photography from the various cameras) with a delay between the input of the command and the response that the vehicle carries out, representing on a smaller scale the functioning of the current communication between Earth and Mars, which can take between 3 and 22 minutes.
